Peter Manning is considered one of Britain's finest musicians and innovative conductors today. As Founder and Artistic Director of Manning Camerata, he regularly directs and leads innovative, musically centered, cross-disciplinary performances. Manning also serves as Artistic Director for the Three Points Music Festival in Malta, Artistic Director for the Mozart Kinderorchester in Salzburg and Guest Conductor of the Dallas Opera. Past appearances have included work with the Royal Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, the Edsberg Chamber Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Opera, Musica Vitae, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Hallé, the Ulster, the London Mozart Players, the London Philharmonic, the Philharmonia, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish, the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic, the Oulu Chamber Orchestra and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. As a celebrated violinist and performer, Peter Manning serves as concertmaster of The Royal Opera House. A champion of new music and innovation in the performing arts, Manning regularly commissions, composes, and directs new works involving choreography and theatre. He previously enjoyed a tenure as the first Professor of New Work at Edinburgh University and currently sits on the board of the National Campaign for the Arts and the Mayor of London’s Music Board.
